The Sacrament of Holy Eucharist (First Holy Communion)

“The holy Eucharist completes Christian initiation. Those who have been raised to the dignity of the royal priesthood by Baptism and configured more deeply to Christ by Confirmation participate with the whole community in the Lord's own sacrifice by means of the Eucharist.”

Taken from the Catechism of the Catholic Church: 1322

Individuals wishing to receive the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist must have received the Sacraments of Baptism and Reconciliation.

Receiving the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist for the first time?

Parishioners who are receiving the sacrament for the first time are asked to attend Faith Formation classes administered by the parish. Parents with children in the 2nd grade are also encouraged to have their child enrolled in the Faith Formation program to begin preparing for the sacrament. You can register for classes by completing and submitting the Religious Education Form | Download form here.

If you are an adult or your child is passed the 3rd grade, consider receiving the sacraments through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program. Individuals in the RCIA program will receive their sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass.
Please contact the parish’s Faith Formation Director at 472.6201 for more information.
