The upcoming Chapel

With the permission of Archbishop Anthony Sablan Apuron and approval from Vatican officials in Rome, the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral-Basilica parish has begun construction on a second chapel adjacent to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Construction that began on August 2006 is expected to be completed around October this year and comes in response to the growing needs of our faith community. The funding for this chapel is made possible through the financial generosity of anonymous donors in the Archdiocese of Agaña.

The upcoming Chapel has been designed to aesthetically fit the existing structure of the main church. Unlike the large seating capacity of the Cathedral-Basilica, the upcoming chapel will accommodate about 250 people with marble, granite, and wood finishes. The atmosphere of the chapel aims to promote a spiritual experience like no other. Catholic faithful who come to celebrate various liturgies in the worship space can look forward to a memorable time in prayer and jubilee with our Lord, our Blessed Mother, and His angels and saints.
